Happy Veteran's Day

I am so thankful to be married to a man that is not only wonderful, but that is also part of our military. The Coast Guard is often overlooked, but not at our house. Not only does the Coast Guard provide for our family but it has also given us so many wonderful opportunities. We lived in ALASKA for a year! So great. I have made some of the best friends because of the Coast Guard. And now we live in a different kind of paradise. I'm such a Georgia girl, but I love a little sand in my toes. Tybee Island has been a dream of ours for so long. Now we're here! We love it. Not only are we only three hours from our family, but we're also living at the beach! We seem to work more now than when we did in Alaska, but its still worth it. Josh loves his job. He loves being in the Coast Guard and he is really good at what he does. He enjoys being on the water and doing all the navigation. He is good at law enforcement and is so brave. I am so proud of him. The Coast Guard guards us at HOME. And that is so important. Thank you to all of our Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, and Sailors.

Kenny Chesney's Soul of a Sailor
He walked in with a salty sway
Lookin' like Blackbeard in his day
A brother in arms just like me
I was born a son of the sea
I can't be still, I can't be tied
The only time I feel alive is

When the wind fills my sail
Riding on a lifelong swell
Let my heart take me where it wants to go
That's the soul of a sailor, the soul of a sailor

He slid a stool and a beer to me
Said, you know, we're both a dying breed
Here's to love lost and newfound friends
And living out life in the boat we're in
I can't be still, I can't be tied
The only time I feel alive is

When the wind fills my sail
Riding on a lifelong swell
Let my heart take me where it wants to go
That's the soul of a sailor, the soul of a sailor

Let my heart take me where it wants to go
That's the soul of a sailor, the soul of a sailor

Sorry for being a slacker!

I promise to try to keep up my blog better from here on out! Josh and I (& our Tucker) now live on Tybee Island! We have a quaint little three bedroom beach house, we love it. Josh is at Station Tybee and on top of all of his duties there, he is also getting his captain's license. He will be able to do fishing charters (and other things like that) for up to six people. I'm so excited for him. I'm still working as a Dental Assistant. I'm with Dr Humphreys on Wilmington now and so far so good. Next month I'll be getting my X-Ray certification. Tucker loves having a big fenced yard with a park near by. He's currently counting sheep in his doggie bed.
